I would call a roofer because it sounds like the leak is roofing related. You may want to look up in the attic or crawlspace before calling anyone. You may be able to pinpoint the leak before calling anybody.
There's also a chance (if your house has vinyl siding) that the siding wasn't installed properly allowing water to get in. I would check the roof first though.
Once the leak is repaired and the ceiling is dry you can repaint after covering the brown spot with 3-4 coats of white shellac based primer to get rid of the stain and prevent it bleeding through again. |
