Topic:Uneven shower temperature I have a problem with my shower and would like to fix it. When I set the temperature it is correct for the bath but once I turn the handle for the shower, my hot water is decreased and I must reset the temperature by reducing the cold water? What is the problem and can I fix it myself. I live in an apartment building.
There's a number of things happening which you can't control. The first is that the water has to travel extra distance through more pipe and then is sprayed through the air further cooling it. The second is that you probably have a water-saving shower head that restricts the flow of water, leaving it in the pipes longer and cooling it faster. Sorry to say, there's nothing you can really do to help it. My shower is the same way and I hate the inconvienence, but there's really no fix.
