Topic :How do I remove toothpaste from carpet?

Our eldest son is autistic and lacks comprehension about many things. This results in us being confronted with many unexpected difficulties.

The one I'd like help with is removing dried toothpaste stains from brown carpet, without removing coloring.
If you use a whitening toothpaste...especially one with peroxide (i.e. Mentadent) you'll be out of luck. The damage is pretty much done within a few minutes of impact.

If it's just normal toothpaste, try scraping up the excess and using 409 to clean the rest. If it still leaves a bleach mark than your carpet isn't colorfast and there's not much you can do. I'd recommend changing your son's toothpaste to a basic brand without all the fancy stuff in it, and call a carpet installer or cleaner to see about dying the bleach marks already there and setting the color with chemicals.
