Topic :Tough Starting Mower
My mower is about 8 year old snapper with 4 hp B&S engine. Cold start requires many arm-wrenching pulls. If you do get it started, restarts are easy, and it runs okay. Oil and plug are okay. Also, is sign of oil on plug normal? |
The choke isn't closing all the way, or the carb is dirty. Try an ounce of Gumout in your next can of gas, it may help. If not, you'll need to start looking at the mechanical end of the carb.
A little oil on the plug is pretty normal, it happens with most mowers that age.
