Topic :Lawn Tractor Starter Trouble

I have a new battery but when I turn the key there is nothing, then when I jump it, the starter works and the engine starts. What might be wrong? P.S. The battery is fully charged.
It could be the solenoid acting up. The best way to find out is to take a voltage reading at the starter connection. If it reads any voltage in the 6-12 volt range then the starter is at fault. If there's little or no voltage then it's most likely the solenoid. Either the starter or the solenoid could be at fault. When you jump the mower, it gives enough extra amperage to overcome whatever the problem may be. Let me know how it goes.
