I can't totally answer your question because every sprinkler system is different. I can tell you that you will need to clear the lines of excess water using an air compressor. I would recommend calling a company that installs the systems and watch what they do very closely, and take notes for next year. If it's not done 100% properly you'll have major repair bills in the spring. It's well worth the money spent for a pro to do the winterization...as a bonus, it there's a problem in the spring they're responsible for fixing it.
