Topic :Self-Propulsion System Not Working
I have a Homelite lawnmower with a 4 hp engine. The self-propulsion system just recently failed. If the lawn mower is off the ground the wheels will spin but if any resistance is placed on them (like trying to mow my yard) they won't move the mower. What can I do to fix this? |
| Either the belt is slipping and needs to be replaced, or the gears have worn out. Both are very common, and it could be either. I would start with a new belt and see if it helps, if not then it's most likely the gears. No way to tell for sure until you start taking things apart. |
