My mower is getting harder and harder to start. The rope pulls really hard. Is there a big problem?

I’m wondering if my problem is an easy fix, or if not. My mower has been progressively harder to start. The rope has been getting more and more difficult to pull through the summer. Finally, I can no longer get the mower started. It has a Briggs and Stratton engine. I think around 4hp. Any ideas?
Have you checked the oil in the mower? It sounds like it’s slowly seizing up. That’s bad…very bad. Let me know.

I took the mower to the local garden shop and they told me is was indeed seized. They showed me that all the oil was gone. Oh well, live and learn. Time to buy a new one, next time I’ll know better.
