Topic :Pool Line Leak
I have an in-ground gunite and fiberglass pool. I believe the line from the main drain has a leak. If a leak-detection check finds a leak, what are the options for repairing/patching the line? |
If the problem's the bottom drain, then we usually just plug it off from inside the pool and forget about it. The filter doesn't need that to work well, only problem is you may need to vacuum the pool more often.
If the problem is a side wall skimmer. The only real option is to dig and replace the line. Underground lines are too difficult to locate leaks in and it's easier just to lay a new line in. I've had to do some lines where I've tunneled under 14 feet of concrete patio to replace them. Not a lot of fun by any stretch of the imagination! |
