Topic:Restricted water flow

After turning my water on or flushing the toilets I get this sound like a horn blowing for about 10 seconds. From underneath my house. Crawling under the house I found that it is coming from either the water tank or the pipes connected to it. The pipes have a gauge on them but I don't see any difference on the needle of the gauge. Help! Is this tearing anything up and how can I fix it? Thanks

The problem you have is pressure related. Somewhere there is a restriction in the line.

You said there was a gauge on the pipes. That indicates that there may be a flow restrictor or pressure regulator in the system. If so, it may be malfunctioning or set too low.

You could also try making sure all the valves are open all the way. A 1/2 open valve can make the same noise.
