Topic :My Go-Kart needs help
I need information on tuning my 4stroke engine for my go-kart. It is not shutting off with the kill switch to the spark plug, the idle needs to be turned up high in order for it not to stall out. Any help would be appreciated. I am new to repair of small engines. |
First off...disconnect the kill switch from the spark plug. It's a great way to get killed quickly You can turn the cart into an electric chair like that!
The proper way to wire a kill switch is to run the wire from the small wire attached to the coil under the recoil housing. Attaching the wire to the spark plug wire can give you enough voltage to kill you...easily. You're lucky the kill switch isn't working, it probably fried the wire keeping you from getting jolted.
Next, I'd be happy to help you get the motor tuned well, but you need to give me some more information.
1.) what make of motor? B&S, techumsa, etc
2.) what HP
3.) is the gas tank attached to the carb or separate
4.) approximate age of the motor. |
