To reseal a driveway is easy, and very messy. I would strongly recommend calling a professional sealing company to do it. They usually cost the same as just buying the sealer and doing it your self. The sealer professional companies use is far better than you can buy in a store, it lasts much longer than the stuff in the bucket does.
To do it yourself, you need to get rid of and oil stains, edge the grass along the driveway, and clean the debris off it with a blower. When you buy your sealer there will be applicators in the same area as the sealer. These will be squeeges, brooms, or both on one tool. Ask the salesperson to help you decide which one. It depends on your type of driveway which one you choose. You will also need to fill all cracks with a filler that you can buy with the sealer. You'll need to read the labels on how to apply them because all products are slightly different.
The application is simple. Stir the sealer until your arms are ready to fall of, then stir another 5 minutes. :-) Apply a puddle onto the driveway and spread it around with the applicator. Be careful not to splash yourself because it will burn your skin. Complete the entire driveway and pray it doesn't rain for 24 hours. That's about it. Just remember to read the directions. |
