Topic : I just built a really neat workbench in my garage and I put in 5 plug outlets in it. Now, not having too much experience with electrical work, I was going to connect all the outlets together and then connect that wire to an existing outlet in the garage wall. My question is, will that be a smart way of doing it? Should I install a new circuit breaker in my panel and run the bench off of that? I will be operating power saws, lights and stuff like that off of the plugs.

Can you please let me know if I can just connect them all the already existing outlet or do I need to do a new circuit. If I have to install a new circuit, can you please tell me how or where on the net I can get the instructions so I don't kill myself:-). Thank you
It can be done....HOWEVER I can't say if it will be safe or not. There's a lot of things to consider like what else is on the circuit and how much load could potentially be on it.

For safety's sake I'd say to put it on it's own circuit. You'll be happy you did when you're not making 200 trips to the panel to reset the breaker just to sand a table top.

There's general instructions on changing a breaker on the electrical section of the site (http://www.household-helper.com/electric).

Adding a breaker is basically the same except you'll need to attach the neutral and the ground in the panel also when you run the wire.
Just make sure your panel can take another breaker before you begin.
